Ese is a sports physician, who trained at the academic department of sports medicine in London (1997). She returned to the department again as senior lecturer in sports medicine (2002-2004). She has spent time in Australia working there as a fellow in sports medicine. She is currently medical director of The London Triathlon (the largest triathlon in the world), as well as the Blenheim triathlon and the Richmond duathlon. She has been chief medical officer for England women’s rugby and has also worked with England women’s football and the Lawn Tennis Association. Her research interests include triathlon medicine, (particularly wetsuits, body mass and core temperature) and retained primitive reflexes as a cause of poor core control. Particular skills: • Pilates for rehabilitation after back, shoulder and lower limb injury. • Pilates for improved performance in triathlon, rugby, swimming, cricket, tennis and others. • Acupuncture for musculoskeletal pain or injury. • Diagnostic ultrasound particularly - knees, elbow, shoulders. • An assessment of retained primitive reflexes in chronic back and lower limb pain |
