Siva is a Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant. He qualified from University College London Medical School in 2005 with his foundation and core medical training across a range of hospitals, including Ipswich, The Royal Free, Bromley and Guys & St Thomas’ Hospitals.
He completed a four-year registrar training programme in Sport and Exercise Medicine in London, qualifying as a consultant in 2013 and becoming a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Since becoming an SEM consultant, Siva has worked at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Headley Court. After two years in the Lower Limbs Department he became Lead Consultant for Spines Rehabilitation in the Centre for Spines and Upper Quadrant Rehabilitation, work that involved managing chronic musculoskeletal symptoms in servicemen and women.
He is a Club Doctor for Brentford Football Club, entering his sixth season with them. In addition he works within British Athletics as a national classifier for Disability Athletics, working with athletes nationally to assign appropriate classes for them to compete in. He has also been a member of the national SEM training committee, guiding the registrar-training programme, as well as being part of the interview panel assessing prospective candidates for SEM training. During registrar training he was field of play team leader at the weight lifting and athletics arenas, at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Siva continues to further develop his expertise and recently completed a formal qualification with a Postgraduate Diploma in musculoskeletal ultrasound at the University of Bournemouth.
