Faye McClelland BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, SRP, MCSP
Faye graduated from Physiotherapy at the University of Brighton in 2013. Since then she has competed as a full time GB Paratriathlete. Faye has recently retired from sport after competing in the Rio Paralympic Games. Prior to this, Faye worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. Her athletic career and former experience within the fitness industry has helped Faye to gain a wide knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and injuries and conditions that may affect it.
Faye told us this about her interests:
Which aspects of physiotherapy interest you especially?
My main interests are sports rehabilitation, particularly within athletics and Triathlon, and with the spine and conditions and pathologies that may affect it.
What are your sporting interests?
Apart from participating in Triathlon, I’m a keen athletics and swimming fan
What attracted you to Eastbourne and working at Sportswise?
I first came to Eastbourne after living in London to study Physiotherapy. I realised Eastbourne had so much scope for me as a triathlete, located on the foot of the Downs with a stunning coastline, it was a perfect location to train. Here I made many like-minded friends within the sporting community. I’ve since never left. Eastbourne is my home now, I’m here to stay!”
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
You may find me running along the seafront or cycling up on the Downs, but for some true down time I love to catch up with friends over coffee and quite a substantial piece of cake!
