Maryke graduated from the university of Stellenboch, South Africa, with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2003.  On completion of her one year compulsory service in the South African health service she travelled to the UK.  She spent 2 years exploring the country and working in the NHS.  She returned to South Africa in 2007 where she worked in private practice and opened her own clinic in 2008.  During 2010 she moved to the UK again and in 2011 Maryke gained an MSc in Sports Injury Management.
