We are really pleased to have Dr Intazar Bashir working with us as a consultant in Pain Medicine to work hand-in-hand with the rest of the clinical team to ensure that you have the best care. He has over sixteen years experience in the field and was a founding member of The Faculty of Pain Medicine.

Here at Sportswise, Dr Bashir will help diagnose and treat pain of any origin and will support you in understanding the pain cycle and the influence that mood and poor sleep can have on pain. He will advise you on the appropriate and safe use of medications and in some cases will use special treatments to try to reduce your pain which may include injections or infusions. Dr Bashir has vast experience in all types of persistent pain, with a particular interest in back pain, neck and shoulder pain, tendinopathy, chronic post- surgical pain and complex regional pain syndrome. He uses novel therapies like Botox and lumbar facet radiofrequency denervation which are NICE approved for the treatment of migraine and low backpain. He is also able to perform nerve blocks for arthritis pain of the shoulder and knee. Some treatments may require the use of x-ray image guidance (fluoroscopy) which he can carry out at a local Hospital.
