Sportswise patient Andrew Geoghegan has recently undertaken the challenge of the Thames Marathon, an endurance swim between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow. It covers a beautiful stretch of the river and has become one of open water swimming’s most prestigious marathon swims.
Andrew wanted to swim this event to raise funds for King Edward VII’s Hospital, a leading centre for Veteran's health that has helped him over the years. Andrew has trained for over a year throughout the bitter cold months and unfortunately through yet more injuries, specifically his shoulder, which is where Sportswise came to help .
The swim went well with Andrew smashing his target of 4 hours, getting over the finish line in 2 hours 50 minutes.
His Just Giving page is still accepting donations. Please take a look.
